Valor Health to Build New Health Center

Article Updated- October 2022

Emmett, ID (May 11, 2022) – Valor Health announced the building of a new family medicine and urgent care clinic in Emmett; the new Valor Health Center will bring additional family medicine and urgent care services to a currently underserved area and eliminate the need for people in the Gem County community to travel over the hill for care.

“It’s exciting to finally announce this,” said Brad Turpen, CEO of Valor Health. “Our new Valor Health Center was approved by our board of directors in late 2019, but once the pandemic hit, Valor Health shifted all of its focus to caring for our community through the worst days of the crisis.”

“Not only is it exciting to begin making progress with this project, but it is also a necessary move: Our new health center will give patients convenient access to the care they need in a beautiful new facility. It’s just one more way we strive to serve our community; last year, Valor Health paid $5.78 million in wages to Gem County residents, and the new Valor Health Center will also provide an excellent foundation for future expansion.”

The new clinic is designed to expand services as community needs evolve. An additional facility also frees up space on the Valor Health campus to add more providers in the future. Leaders at Valor Health stress the importance of routine healthcare and its correlation to long-term health and wellness.

Patients who partner with family medicine providers at Valor Health have access to their entire healthcare team across the Valor system. Family medicine providers partner with specialists and other providers to make patients’ healthcare experience seamless, something particularly reassuring for young families and seniors alike, as people age and health needs evolve.

The location, which Valor Health will announce at a later date, was selected for its accessibility and convenience for those who live and work in Gem County.
