Important Update: Changes to Valor Health Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Program

To our valued patients,
We write to inform you about a significant change to the Valor Health Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Program. Dr. Jerod Hines will be leaving employment at Valor Health and his last day as an employee will be December 19th. Valor Health has started the recruitment process for a new full-time surgeon who will also serve as Medical Director to lead our Orthopedic and Sports Medicine program. We thank Dr. Hines for the service he has provided to Gem County for the past nine years and wish him the best of luck in his new endeavors.

Jerod Hines, MD

Dr. Hines will be opening his own clinic inside Gem Family Medicine in January 2026 and for those that opt to follow Dr. Hines, Valor Health will ensure your records are transferred upon your request.

We know changes such as these can feel disruptive, and we want to make sure your transitions to our new provider team go as smoothly as possible. Our trusted Valor team members are available to help you with any needed care. While we recruit a permanent full-time surgeon, we will be utilizing part-time orthopedists who have been thoroughly vetted by our Medical Staff to meet your needs. We are proud of our program, serving Gem County’s Orthopedic and Sports Medicine needs since 2016 and are excited about the future.

We will be updating the community on our physician recruiting. If you should have any questions during this upcoming transition, please feel free to reach out to Executive Director, Matt Godfrey, or talk to a member of the Executive team, as we are here to help.
