Dr. Jon Hlavinka joins Valor Health Family Medicine, offering our patients increased access to primary care services. Born to a rural family physician, Dr. Hlavinka began his healthcare
journey at a young age, joining his father on hospital rounds and eventually becoming a hospital orderly and then a paramedic for the volunteer ambulance service.
Dr Hlavinka spent time practicing medicine in remote Alaska and served as the medical director for the Kodiak Island Native Association. He would travel by amphibious planes to secluded
villages to care for his patients. Upon starting his family, he moved back to the lower 48 and joined a clinic in Nampa that eventually became Saltzer Health. Over the span of his career, Dr. Hlavinka has provided care for all ages of patients, from birth through life, and specializes in adult chronic care.
When not serving his patients and community, Dr. Hlavinka can be found enjoying the great Idaho outdoors. His passions include skiing, camping, biking, hiking, kayaking, and photography. He also spends time on his hobby farm with his chickens, goats, and garden.
Access to primary care is important for you and your family. As we work to recruit new permanent providers. we are excited to welcome Dr. Jon Hlavinka to our Family Medicine team to help increase appointment availability during this transition. Dr. Hlavinka has over 30 years of experience and will provide interim care at our clinic through 2025.
