Ortho | Sports MedicineMichael B. Taylor, MD treats all aspects of adult urology with a focus in benign prostatic hyperplasia (otherwise known as BPH or enlarged prostate), kidney stones, men’s health, urethral stricture disease, prostate cancer, and bladder cancer.
Dr. Taylor has pioneered several procedures in the state of Idaho. He was the first urologist in the state to perform the following:
- Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP)
- Dr. Taylor performed the first HoLEP in Idaho on July 31, 2022
- In 24 months, he performed over 330 HoLEP procedures and led the training of local urologists in the technique. As of March 2025, he has conducted over 600 HoLEP procedures in Idaho with a >98% success rate
- Urolift® (or prostatic urethral stenting)
- Rezūm™ (prostate thermovaporization)
- Buccal Graft Urethroplasty
Prior to starting the independent practice The Urology Clinic in 2023, Dr. Taylor served as Medical Director of the St. Luke’s Meridian Medical Center Operating Room.
He is a member of the American Urologic Association and is Board Certified.
