Ortho | Sports MedicineAmy Chan, PA-C is a board-certified physician assistant specializing in orthopedic surgery. She assists in both the clinic and operating room, providing comprehensive care for patients with acute and chronic orthopedic conditions, including joint preservation, arthroscopic procedures, and total joint arthroplasty.
Amy earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Idaho State University in 2017 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a minor in Educational Studies from the University of California, Irvine. Prior to PA school, she trained and worked as an Emergency Medical Technician in Los Angeles. She is licensed to practice in Idaho and holds national certification as a physician assistant.
Before joining Capital Surgical Associates, Amy gained experience in family medicine, general surgery, and emergency care. She spent four years practicing family medicine in rural Oregon, two years in general surgery, and most recently focused on orthopedic surgery in the Treasure Valley. She brings extensive procedural expertise and a patient-centered approach, emphasizing open communication, close follow-up, and empathy.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Amy has made the Boise area her home and enjoys the outdoors, community engagement, and supporting patients across Idaho with personalized, high-quality care. She is fluent in Cantonese, conversational in Mandarin, and intermediate in Spanish, allowing her to connect with a diverse patient population.
